Picasso's greatly influential art continues to inspire fashion designers to this day, but on this Wednesday afternoon I feel rather inspired- quite literally- by his actual fashion. Variations of a classic navy and white bateau shirt is present in practically every photo of the artist and it has me thinking about pieces that I consider timeless. Not sure whether Picasso has influenced the timelessness of the bateau shirt or if it has always been a classic but I do know that like his paintings, they have become quintessential in our society and I can't imagine life without either.

The Tropics
Vivid, detailed tropical prints were EVERYWHERE this summer, and I do have to say that I had been waiting for the day to take my dad's old Hawaiian shirts and cut them up into something feisty to wear. Well he didn't let me cut them up, BUT I was able to wear them as easy coverups by the pool and pretend they were one of a kind Stella's... The over-saturation of the florally, Hawaiian-esque tropical print still makes me happy inside- maybe for nostalgic reasons or maybe because each print really has unique elements that keep me guessing. Never before have tropical prints been a dressy graphic but this season due to lush fabrication and sexy silhouettes tropical prints have gone elegant. LWD
My summer uniform... the Little White Dress. Its versatility, effortlessness, and etherial qualities make it the perfect summer garment that can be dressed up or down with the right shoes or accessories. It'll take you from the beach to cocktails to dinner with ease, just be careful not to spill your 3rd glass of red vino down your front.
