The perfect piece that gives you an instant edge, that has the ability to take you from day to night, that smiles at you when you walk into the room ... the motorcycle jacket (preferably in leather). It's one of those timeless pieces that has carried over from the 50's, the 80's and especially today. I have my eye on this Acne number with the bright-blue shearling collar  ... I wish it was Christmas already.

Milan S/S '13 : Favorite Looks

The Milan Spring looks I was drawn to were predominantly dainty and feminine with a lighter-than-air energy. My favorite looks weren't etherial in their daintiness, rather, they exuded power from their delicate fabrication and complex construction.

London S/S '13: Favorite Looks

My favorite looks from the collections shown during London's Fashion Week are definitely in sync with my favorite looks shown during New York's. I was drawn to structured, clean and tailored looks in cold palettes which seem to be very menswear inspired.

Really into copper accents for the home right now, a bit of copper can liven up even the most muted spaces...

Shopping List: Slippers

definitely don't mean the kind you wear with sweatpants or whatever other abominable lounge wear you wear scuttling around your house... (I spent most of freshman year in sweatpants so I know what I'm talking about)

NY S/S 13: Favorite Looks

To make a big generalization (but I'm kind of right) NY Fashion Week was very print heavy, sporty, and ladylike. I was drawn more to the feminine street looks which were highly textured and dynamic with subtle detailing in construction. I couldn't resist throwing in this stunning Marchesa dress which has to be my favorite piece from all of the shows in NY.

Oversized Coats

They say this coming winter will be one of the harshest, translate that to fashion and you get....... the search for the perfect coat! This winter I'm going to go with a boy-girl androgynous look and rock one of these oversized coats that both make a statement and keep you warm. My eye has been on the delicious Celine menswear inspired coats but I have a feeling I'll have to settle for something that won't murder my wallet..

Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's

I went to the screening of Matthew Miele's "Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's" documentary last night and fell in love with my favorite store all over again. The film covered everything from the lavish, unprecedented window dressings to the icons that have shopped in the store, to the characters who work at BG, to the designers whose careers were made by their lines being carried at Bergdorf's. I felt incredibly inspired by the power Berfdorf Goodman has on the fashion community and in particular, to the designers who are lucky enough to be carried there. Here's hoping one day you will see MORTON & HUDSON on the sleek shelves of the 5th floor. When the film is released to the public I highly suggest you go see it, maybe it will inspire you too!

Santambrogio's Glass Homes

I'm fascinated by the Italian design duo Santambrogio's (Carlo Santambrogio & Ennio Arosic) glass homes which were constructed entirely out of a blue hued glass. Each glass house was built in a contrasted environment- harsh snowy forest and lush green seaside. It's captivating how the translucent structures allow the external environment to manifest itself through the home. I would love to own one of these one day, but just imagine the cleaning bill...

Birthday Weekend

This weekend not only marked the end of summer (boo) but me and my boyfriend both share the same Labor Day birthday! We spent the weekend celebrating in Amagansett and Montauk among close friends... here are a few snapshots of us from the weekend!
