In My White T (Blouse)

I just can't seem to get enough of the crisp white blouse, I find myself constantly on the hunt for the perfect one.

Structure

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall give me structure in geometric edgy silhouettes.

Menswear Inspired

Maybe it's because Yves Saint Laurent is my favorite designer of all time and his genius, innovative mind is what inspired me to be a designer; or maybe it's because Annie Hall is my favorite movie; or maybe its because I'm a tomboy at heart... Either way, I can't get enough of menswear inspired pieces. Blazers, pleated trousers, ties, suspenders, oxfords... I love the down to business sophistication of menswear and its ability to transform the female form.

Tierney Gearon is Rad

Her latest gallery called "Explosure" plays with juxtaposing images and double exposes them. They are so lively and playful, I love their free spirit nature. Here are some of my favorites...

Les Chapeaux

One accessory that I cannot live without is The Hat. Whether it's the wide brimmed fedora, the packer, the trilby, or the floppy brimmed, hats add an intriguing quality to any outfit. As the official day of Spring was yesterday, it's time to switch out the angora, felt and wool chapeaux for the lighter straw and cotton.

Des Colores

With winter coming to a close and spring rapidly approaching it's time to put away the black and embrace color. Bold colors with minimalist silhouettes add maximum impact.

Apres-Ski, Mon Ami

Being in Aspen has me totally inspired by vintage ski and apres ski wear. Whether it's 80's neon onezies, oversized fur coats or vintage plaid pants, quirky mountain wear certainly trumps the mundane and muted.

Fresh Squeezed

So normally I'm not a print person, especially prints that are reminiscent of my parent's bedroom in the '90s....But this particular Stella McCartney print for Spring '11 had me craving a little more fruit in my life. The fresh vibrant colors, the oversized citrus, the symmetrical pattern all work together making this a dynamic unparalleled print for the Spring. So when life hands you lemons... make a really bomb ass print :)

CHANEL F/W Favorite Looks

Chanel's F/W Collection is by far my favorite this season. The haunting silhouettes and complex textured fabrics mixed with downtown casual chic is certainly aiming to target a younger demographic... which I love. Departing from its classic and formal "ladies who lunch" persona, Chanel is now a brand with a downtown youthful feel. From the ad campaigns last Fall filmed on a fire escape on Mercer  to the new store in SoHo, Chanel has kept its sophisticated image but has added a youthful spark to show that classic doesn't have to be old or tired. Fashion is evolutionary not revolutionary, and I'm loving the way Chanel has evolved over the past year.

An Ode to Capes

i think i've loved capes since the moment i first read little red riding hood as a girl. they serve as the perfect throw on piece for fall- keeping you warm, chic and bundled. they even work for spring, who could forget celine's oversized striped cape in resort '11. putting on a cape puts me in the mood for adventure, like i could go run into the woods and brave the wolves and forest creatures... because there are obviously a lot of woods and fanged creatures in new york city.
